Matt Grubb | Lead Pastor

Matt is a native Texan, Jesus follower, and pastor who is passionate about creating a place where people can Find and Follow Jesus. After encountering Jesus in high school, he felt called to ministry and attended Abilene Christian University, where he met his wife, Sarah Lynn.

Since then Matt has helped plant a church in Oregon, served in student and adult ministries, and served as a campus pastor in Southern California. He has served leading New Vintage Church since 2023.

Sarah Lynn Grubb | Executive Pastor of Community & Engagement

Sarah Lynn Grubb loves helping people discover their gifts, take their next steps toward Jesus, and find their people. A worship leader, creative, and team builder at heart, she believes every person is made in the image of God and that the local church should be a place where people feel seen, creativity thrives, and faith comes alive in meaningful and unexpected ways.

Since 2011, Sarah Lynn has served churches throughout Southern California, leading worship and creative teams. With more than 25 years of ministry experience, she brings a blend of vision, strategy, and a deep love for people, the arts, and the local church to NVC. When she’s not on her back porch watching birds, you’ll likely find her on a trail, enjoying the ocean, or finding beauty in the ordinary.

Rylie Keener | Worship Pastor

Rylie is a creative leader, worship pastor, and designer who loves bringing together creativity, communication, and ministry. She has been serving at New Vintage Church since 2016, where she leads worship and helps shape the church's creative and digital presence through graphic design, social media, and marketing.

With a Master's Degree in Worship Studies: Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University and a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design & Digital Media from Southern New Hampshire University, Rylie loves finding creative ways to help people connect with God, engage with the church, and feel like they belong.

Outside of work and ministry, Rylie loves spending time with her husband, Alejandro, and heir daughter, Aubree. She's always up for a good cup of coffee, a creative conversation, or getting to know someone new!

WHAT WE BELIEVE

The Bible

We believe that Scripture is God’s unique and inspired word, giving wisdom and God’s plan for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

The Father

We worship God who is the creator of all things and our heavenly Father.

Jesus

Jesus, the son of God, fully God and fully human, willingly went to the cross and rose again three days later. Jesus invites us to follow him as the way to grace through his sacrifice.

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is our counselor, advocate and comforter who empowers and guides our lives. 

Humanity

We recognize all have sinned and fallen short of God’s best for us. Sin entered the world and we are dependent on God’s grace for salvation. We are redeemed through Jesus and called to live in community with one another under Christ.

The Church

New Vintage believes that the local church is God’s plan for people to encounter Jesus' love and grace. In our imperfection we look to Jesus who makes us holy and perfects us. We encourage one another and build one another up. The Church is God’s plan for people to encounter and pursue him. 

Communion

We practice communion on a weekly basis as the symbol of coming together and partaking of the same meal that Jesus had with his disciples before he was crucified. We do this weekly remembering, celebrating and participating in Christ’s gift to all. 

Baptism

We practice baptism as the symbol of one’s new birth into the new creation. Jesus calls us to follow in his example to repent (turn away) from our sin and be baptized. This reflects Christ’s life, death, and resurrection.
